Conidae

From the Latin conus, -i = cone. It is due to the beauty of the colors and designs of these gastropods, the relative abundance of many species and the constant presence of rare species, that collectors are encouraged to obtain more and more specimens. The species of the genus Conus must be at least 400.
Mostly they are animals that live in shallow waters, both on the rocks and on the sands of the intertidal zone or on the sandy bottoms up to 60m of depth.
