Another feature are the very sharp and clearly visible suture lines of the phyllodes type septa, which create a fantastic texture that adds beauty to the subject.
On the back there are shell portions with a beautiful red opalescence.
Ammonites are excellent guide fossils, and it is often possible to link the rock layer in which a particular species or genus is found to specific geological periods.
