Description
Ammonite of the Phylloceratida family precisely Phylloceras.
This species lived in the Upper Jurassic period, Oxfordian (160 million years).
A rare Ammonite from the Befandriana deposits in Madagascar, known as the only field in which this species was found much older than the other Ammonites in Madagascar.
Usually from Madagascar come numerous Cleoniceras and Lytoceras Ammonites belonging to the Cretaceous period, while the Phylloceras lived in the Oxfordian period, 50 million years earlier.
The outermost and largest rooms have a beautiful crystallization with visible crystals.
A truly unique specimen.
