Description

This sphere is carved from a block of botryoidal Grape Agate, a rare variety of purple chalcedony that formed exclusively on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.
The surface features spectacular spheroidal (botryoidal) aggregates resembling small clusters of grapes. The colors range from amethyst purple to lavender lilac, with touches of pale pink and milky shades, creating a rich and hypnotic visual effect. The natural cavities in the sphere reveal the mineral’s internal structure, with fine crystallizations and encrustations that testify to its millennia-long formation.
Grape Agate formed in ancient volcanic environments, where silica-rich solutions slowly filled vugs and cavities in basalt. The hydrothermal conditions and local geochemistry favored the growth of these microcrystalline chalcedony globules, resulting in a completely unique morphology.
This formation is unique in the world and comes exclusively from Sulawesi, specifically from the Mamuju region. It was discovered and introduced to the mineral market only recently, in the early 2000s.
This sphere is perfect for collectors of geological curiosities and mineralogical rarities, as well as for those who practice crystal healing. Grape Agate is said to promote inner calm, spiritual connection, and access to deep meditative states, supporting lucid dreaming and intuitive visions.
