Sculpture carved from a block of Biotite, a mineral that encapsulates stunning green emeralds. Originating from Bahia in Brazil, in these areas, the earth's crust, folded and compressed, has given rise to deposits rich in beryllium and chromium, key elements for the formation of emeralds. These crystals, with their distinctive hexagonal shape and intense green color, emerge from the crevices in the rocks, where they have cooled and crystallized. Since the 1960s, the area has witnessed intense mining activity. Thousands of prospectors, locally known as garimpeiros, have flocked to this land, driven by the hope of discovering precious emeralds.
