A sphere made of precious red Levanto marble with a backsplash made from the same block of marble to guarantee the same shades of color.
The red of Levanto is a marble used since ancient times for the creation of statues and ornaments for the luxurious homes of ancient Roman nobles, but thanks to some findings it was possible to discover that it was also used in the Byzantine era.
The sphere rests on an ad hoc pedestal, also in Levanto red, which allows the entire composition to be exhibited on display.
The diameter of the sphere is approximately 150 mm.
