Lead sulphide, the galena was first described by Pliny the Elder. The hardness of this mineral reaches 2.5 on the Mohs scale and has a gray color with shades that bring you closer to the color of silver or lead.
In the Middle Ages it was extracted to recover the small amounts of silver contained in it.
